SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) โ€” All northbound lanes of Interstate 805, just north of Governor Drive in the University City area, were temporarily closed Sunday following a deadly traffic collision, according to California Highway Patrol.

Authorities first reported the incident around 4:22 a.m.

As reported by the San Diego Union Tribune, the crash involved three vehicles, with one of them striking the center divide and catching fire. One person was reportedly killed.

Further details about the crash were not immediately available.

Motorists traveling through the area were urged to use alternate routes until the scene was cleared. Traffic in the surrounding area was impacted for several hours while crews responded to the incident.
