“Saturday Night Live” took parting shots at Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and her “year (singular) of hard work” in the cold open after President Donald Trump fired her. (Watch the “SNL” cold open below.)

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth (played by Colin Jost) introduced Noem (played by Ashley Padilla) at a fake Iran war press conference by declaring that she was “reassigned under the bus” by the president.

On Thursday, Trump announced he would move Noem to a newly-formed role, “special envoy for the Shield of the Americas,” and tapped Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) to be his nominee.

“I just want to make it clear that I didn’t get fired, I self-deported,” stressed the faux DHS secretary, whose firing arrived just days after her trainwreck Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

The mock Noem added she had “no regrets” about her controversial time as DHS head.

“Because, like they say, you miss 100% of the dogs you don’t shoot,” said the faux Noem, who used a 2024 book to reveal that she killed her self-described “less than worthless” 14-month-old hunting dog, Cricket.

The “SNL” cast member proceeded to take on more of Noem’s scandals in the brutal farewell message, “I took this job with the goal of securing our border, deporting thousands of illegals and spending $200 million on ads of me riding a horse.”

She continued, “And I think I really nailed it, and by ‘it,’ I mean my married co-worker in a big, beautiful flying bedroom 30,000 feet over Minneapolis.”
