Four people, including two children, were injured when a cable snapped midair on a carnival attraction in Spain. According to the Seville Emergency Service Department (SESD), the incident occurred on the "Steel Max," a bungee-style attraction, at the Seville Fair around 8:20 p.m. local time on Friday, April 24. "Four people suffered minor injuries and were treated on scene. The pair aboard the ride were later transported to a local medical center," the department said in a Facebook post. Footage obtained by USA TODAY shows a cable snap seconds after a two-seater circular capsule is launched into the air, plummeting to the ground after completing a few revolutions. An onlooker, identified as María Sánchez by local newspaper Diario de Sevilla, can be heard screaming "Oh, my god" during the clip. Firefighters sealed off the area, including the ride, to facilitate the rescue. Access remained limited while firefighters and the Civil Protection Service worked to get the injured to safety. "Local Police has inspected the documentation. All emergency service departments (involved) took rapid intervention," the department said. Spain’s National Police is investigating the incident. Seville Mayor José Luis Sanz told Diario de Sevilla that the incident could have been a "real tragedy." Sanz revealed that the ride previously passed inspection. The Department of Urban Management is investigating the incident. The families of two boys who were on the ride at the time of the incident intend to take legal action, Diario de Sevilla reported. Sánchez, one of the boys' relatives, told the outlet that "the boys are not okay, they're alive, because what occurred was a miracle."
