White House Calls Jimmy Kimmel A 'S**t Human Being' As It Ramps Up Calls For His Firing

The White House is continuing to push for Jimmy Kimmel’s firing hours after the late-night comedian refused to apologize for a joke he made last week about President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump. “ABC needs to fire him immediately and he should be shunned for the rest of his life,” White House communications director Steven Cheung said of Kimmel in an X post Tuesday, calling him a “shit human being” for making a “disgusting joke about assassinating the President.” Cheung also scolded Kimmel for “doubling down on that joke instead of doing the decent thing by apologizing.” Melania Trump has also urged the network to terminate Kimmel. “It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community,” she wrote Monday on X. “A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him.” “People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate,” she added. Kimmel joked about the first lady’s “expectant widow” glow days before a gunman burst into the White House Correspondents’ Dinner that the president was attending on Saturday. On his show on Monday, the late-night host defended his quip as “a very light roast joke about the fact that he’s almost 80 and she’s younger than I am.” Kimmel emphasized that his joke was not “by any stretch of the definition a call to assassination, and they know that.” Agreeing that hateful and violent rhetoric is something to “reject,” the comedian then did an Uno reverse on the first lady. “I think a great place to start to dial that back would be to have a conversation with your husband about it,” he added. Kimmel also pointed out that White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt had told Fox News ahead of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner that there would be “some shots fired” during Trump’s speech, likening his comment to hers. The official White House Rapid Response social media account slammed Kimmel for defending his joke on Tuesday morning. “Jim — you are a pathetic has-been (never-was) piece of trash. We all know what you meant,” the account posted on X alongside a clip of Kimmel backing his joke.
