As retail access to market-linked futures and index-based trading tools continues to expand, some traders also look for ways to practice or explore speculative strategies across broader markets like equities, indices, and commodities. Platforms such as Plus500 offer futures and derivatives trading tools, including paper trading features, that allow users to gain exposure to market movements without directly owning the underlying assets.

Unlike traditional perpetual futures contracts that never expire, Coinbase’s perp-style contracts expire after five years. U.S. rules do not currently support actual perpetual futures contracts. However, Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Michael Selig has reportedly said that the agency is working to open the U.S. to the product.

Coinbase’s perp-style equity index futures come after the company launched a Magnificent 7 stock perpetual index futures product in March for users outside the U.S.

Coinbase Chief Financial Officer Alesia Haas told CNBC earlier this month the company is working to diversify its trading offering beyond cryptocurrencies to sustain revenue when market interest shifts. Her remarks came after the company’s Q1 earnings miss amid a cryptocurrency market decline.

Building a resilient portfolio means thinking beyond a single asset or market trend. Economic cycles shift, sectors rise and fall, and no one investment performs well in every environment. That's why many investors look to diversify with platforms that provide access to real estate, fixed-income opportunities, professional financial guidance, precious metals, and even self-directed retirement accounts. By spreading exposure across multiple asset classes, it becomes easier to manage risk, capture steady returns, and create long-term wealth that isn't tied to the fortunes of just one company or industry.
