Boston police arrest 14-year-old after masked suspects allegedly rob siblings’ lemonade stand

In a shocking incident in Boston, children operating a lemonade stand were robbed at gunpoint. The father of one young victim expressed profound distress, highlighting the traumatizing impact on the 11 and 12-year-old kids. This brazen daylight crime has sparked outrage and concern over public safety in the city.
A 14-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery last week that targeted a children’s lemonade stand in South Boston, authorities said Friday.
The robbery happened Wednesday afternoon near West Ninth Street, when two suspects allegedly approached two children operating the stand, stole their cash box and displayed a firearm during the incident.
Officials said the arrested suspect is facing multiple firearm-related charges, including two counts of armed robbery and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.
The second individual involved remains at large.

The suspects allegedly targeted a lemonade stand run by an 11-year-old girl and her 12-year-old brother, CBS 4 Boston reported.
The Boston Police Department (BPD) said the pair made several passes by the stand before approaching and asking whether Apple Pay was accepted.

Before the children could respond, the suspects allegedly grabbed the cash box, with one flashing a black firearm tucked into his waistband.
The Boston Herald reported that the suspects allegedly stole about $50 from the cash box.

Police said the 14-year-old suspect was arrested Friday after the police released surveillance video and photos of the two suspects Thursday afternoon in an effort to generate leads.
In the video, the suspects were seen wearing black face coverings, with one also carrying a black backpack and a pink box believed to be containing the cash.

Officials said the teen will be processed as a juvenile delinquent and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on delinquency charges.
The police said it is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident and urged anyone with information about the second suspect to contact detectives at (617) 343-4742.
