A passionate advocate for underground music and a musician himself, he has conducted several hundred interviews with artists and industry professionals across a wide range of styles and genres over the past 15 years. Paul McCartney has been listening to Céline Dion’s work on his upcoming animated film High in the Clouds, and the former Beatle is already seriously impressed.
As Dion continues her long-awaited return to the stage in Paris, McCartney took to Instagram this week to celebrate her comeback and reveal that he has heard some of what she has recorded for the animated musical.
“It’s been great to see the amazing reaction to Céline’s comeback in Paris. There’s so much love out there for her,†McCartney wrote.
He also spoke of her contribution to High in the Clouds, the animated adaptation of the children’s book McCartney co-wrote with Geoff Dunbar and Philip Ardagh.

“I’m so excited that she’s part of our High in the Clouds film. I’ve just been listening to some of her performances, and I’m blown away. Wow, what a talent!†he wrote. “We are very lucky to have her as part of the team. Can’t wait to share it with the world.â€
McCartney also shared images with Dion that appear to have been taken during a recording session. Dion subsequently shared the images herself. Dion was announced as part of the film’s star-studded voice cast in 2025, alongside Himesh Patel, Hannah Waddingham, Idris Elba, Lionel Richie, Ringo Starr and McCartney himself. She voices Sugartail, while McCartney plays McKenzie.
The film follows Wirral, a teenage squirrel who sets out to restore music to a world where it has been banned by Gretsch, a tyrannical owl. McCartney wrote the film’s original songs, while Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino is handling the score.
The movie is scheduled for release in the summer of 2027.
Michael Bublé and Drew Scott are teaming up for a new documentary series celebrating youth hockey. The pair are at the centre of Hometown Giants, a new six-part docuseries following their Western Hockey League team, the Vancouver Giants, through its 2025-26 season. Prime Video unveiled the first look this week, with all six episodes set to premiere October 16.
Bublé has been a minority owner of the Vancouver Giants since 2008, while Scott joined the ownership group in 2023. Now, cameras follow the longtime friends as they navigate the realities of running a major junior hockey franchise, from front-office decisions and roster moves to the much more personal stakes facing the teenage players on the ice.
The Giants entered the season with plenty to prove. Vancouver has not won the Memorial Cup since 2007, and the 2025-26 campaign was an attempt to turn around a franchise that had struggled the previous season. The series also introduces viewers to players balancing school, life away from home and the enormous pressure of trying to turn junior hockey into an NHL career.
Bublé and Scott reportedly consulted Ryan Reynolds before embarking on the project, given Reynolds' experience as co-owner of Welsh soccer club Wrexham and the success of Welcome to Wrexham. Reynolds' advice, according to the pair, was blunt: “Don't do it.â€
Matthew Perry
Matthew Perry’s family and friends remember the late actor’s incredible talent, generosity, and long battle with addiction in the poignant new trailer for the upcoming documentary, The One About Matthew Perry.
The clip opens with a montage of archival footage and interviews with Perry discussing his desire to make people laugh and become famous, as well as the phone call that changed his life when he was offered the role of Chandler Bing on Friends. “I was extremely happy when I got famous,†Perry says in one interview. “Then I was like, ‘Uh-oh, this didn’t fix what’s inside me. This didn’t do what I thought it was gonna do.’â€
Immediately after, Perry’s sister, Mia Perry Bowick, adds, “My brother would talk about that feeling of emptiness or loneliness that he couldn’t quite fill. He spent $7 million trying to get sober — that’s how seriously he took his disease.†(Perry died in 2023 from the acute effects of ketamine, which caused him to accidentally drown.)
Bowick is one of several people who speaks on camera for the first time about Perry in the documentary, along with longtime friends Roger Castillo and David Pressman. While none of his Friends costars participated in the film, a few people on the show’s creative team did, as did some of Perry’s collaborators from other projects like The Whole Nine Yards, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Fools Rush In.
Along with digging into the actor’s own efforts to get sober, it will also examine how he tried to help others. Two people Perry met in recovery and rehab spoke for the film as well, including Evelyn Sallinger and Tim Harrington, who became Perry’s roommate for a time in the early 2000s and credits the actor with saving his life.
The One About Matthew Perry was directed by Mary Robertson. It’s set to premiere Oct. 27 on Netflix.
Dennis Haskins
Dennis Haskins, the American actor and musician best known for playing the beloved Principal Belding on Saved by the Bell, died at 75. His agent, Jay Schachter, confirmed his death, although details were not given.
“It’s a tragic loss,†Schachter said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “Everyone loved Mr. Belding, and those of us who got to know Dennis loved him even more. He was a great person, and he loved, I mean absolutely LOVED his fans. He always had time for them, no matter what. He was my client and dear friend for over 20 years, and I will miss him terribly.â€
Haskins initially played Principal Belding on the Disney Channel show Good Morning, Miss Bliss, which was reworked after one season and became Saved by the Bell. Saved by the Bell ran on NBC from 1989-1993. Haskins reprised the character on Saved by the Bell: The New Class, which aired from 1993-2000. Principal Belding was known for his catchphrase: “Hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?â€
Haskins was born on Nov. 18, 1950 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He made his onscreen debut in 1979 in an episode of The Dukes of Hazzard. He went on to appear in multiple episodes of the CBS series, each time playing a different role. He went on to play bit roles on Archie Bunker’s Place and Magnum PI: Autumn Warrior before being cast as Principal Belding.
Throughout his career, Haskins appeared on dozens of TV shows and in a few films, including Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West. His resume included episodes of Mad Men, Hot in Cleveland, New Girl, I’m Dying Up Here, How I Met Your Mother, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. In 2015, he reunited with Saved by the Bell’s Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez, and Tiffani Thiessen for a sketch on The Tonight Show.
Haskins regularly performed music, and participated in two USO tours for troops in Kosovo, Macedonia, and Bosnia in 2000, and again in 2002 in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Oman, and Kyrgyzstan. He released his debut album, Karaoke With Your Favorite Principal Dennis, in 2009. He later made a cameo in Khalid’s music video for “Young Dumb & Broke,†playing a principal.
Kimberly Snow, Haskins’ friend and longtime caretaker, shared a tribute to the actor on the Instagram page for Dimples Karaoke, noting that he was a staple of the now-shuttered venue.
“A lot of people thought he owned it, but he didn’t,†she wrote. “He just loved the place and its people. He enjoyed singing for people, meeting them, and taking selfies with his fans. Dimples closed down about 11 years ago, and people still associate him with his beloved ‘second home.’ He was known to most as Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell, but to us, he was much more than that.â€
She shared that Haskins became ill eight years ago with Parkinson’s, “among other health concerns.†“He did not want to have to tell people,†Snow wrote. “He would say, ‘What do I even say?’ So I respected his wishes and stayed quiet, and I helped him through his journey into the next chapter of his life. Late last night, that journey ended for him. He is now at peace and is probably entertaining the people in the sky.â€
Producers of Québec's most popular dating reality show, Occupation Double, have confirmed that masked intruders made their way into on the show's villas this weekend. According to a statement, no one was hurt and the suspects were arrested, but the team is staying tight-lipped about more details.
Streaming nationwide on Crave, the dating show is currently filming its 20th season in the southwest of Panama.
Filmed over the course of several weeks, the competition sees a group of young men and women, kept in different villas, who must compete and conspire to find love and win the cash prize, cars and the house the winning couple is awarded.
In the night between last Thursday and Friday, a group of 3 armed individuals managed to sneak past security and make their way into the boys' villa. No details were given about what happened next, but a short altercation with some of the contestants ensued, before the production's security team and the national police intervened before anyone could be harmed.
The shooting of the show has started up again, and contestants can get help from the onsite psychologist should they need it, Productions J has said. “Following the incident, additional security measures were implemented in collaboration with the national police force to strengthen security at the site. The candidates also continue to receive ongoing support from the production team and the assigned psychologist.â€
It is not clear whether the intruders had specifically targeted the house because they knew the show was being shot there, though it's highly unlikely robbers would knowingly walk into a house filled to the brim with state of the art automatic cameras that film nonstop.
Ryan Murphy
Ryan Murphy has officially completed the script for a potential reboot of Glee. Speaking at the premiere of the new season of American Horror Story, Murphy told Entertainment Tonight that the cast is “very enthusiastic†about a potential reunion for the Fox musical comedy series, which ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015.
“Well, funny you ask, because I just finished the script an hour ago,†Murphy said. “So, we have a script. Brad [Falchuk], Ian [Brennan] and I, who wrote all the first two seasons, have written something. I’ve been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members. It’s very sweet, and they all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea.â€
He added, “Nobody’s read it. So I don’t know, we’ll see. I vowed to myself that I wanted to write a couple of them to see what people think, particularly the cast, because we were very close when we were making it. So we’ll see.â€
Murphy previously teased a return to Glee in July. “That show is interesting because it’s come back around,†he told People. “So many young people now watch it. And I’m like, ‘Maybe we should revisit that show.’ My nostalgia and love for that show is enough that I’m like, ‘Well, maybe people would like to see a new incarnation of that in some capacity.'â€
Glee starred Matthew Morrison as head of the New Directions glee club at the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Dianna Agron, Naya Rivera, Heather Morris, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Darren Criss, Harry Shum Jr., and Mark Salling were among the actors who played the club’s students. The show also starred Jane Lynch as a rival teacher. Glee: The Concert Movie followed the success of the series, which ended in March 2015.
Murphy has been especially busy this year. In July, he debuted The Shards, an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ 2023 novel for FX and Hulu. Earlier this month he premiered the latest iteration of his Monster series for Netflix, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story. American Horror Story‘s 13th season kicks off tonight with three episodes. It features several returning cast members, including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Kathy Bates.
