Michael Kosta Sordidly Explains Why Trump Didn't Fire Kristi Noem Sooner

Michael Kosta joked that Kristi Noem’s rumored affair with Corey Lewandowski preserved her job for a bit before she got fired as homeland security secretary on Thursday. (Watch the video below.) The Wall Street Journal reported recently that Noem and her senior adviser Lewandowski, whose alleged extramarital relationship has been called “the worst-kept secret in D.C.,” had been keeping company on a DHS-leased 737 MAX jet with a private cabin in the back. After President Donald Trump ousted Noem and made her envoy for something called The Shield of the Americas, Kosta applauded Congress for showing Noem a photo of the plane’s boudoir at a hearing the day before her demotion. “Can you imagine being confronted about your affair with a picture of the actual bed that’s so big, the cameraman had to zoom out?” he cracked. But the comedian also had a theory that the alleged mile-high clubbiness of it all had moved Trump. “If anything, the sex plane probably bought her a few weeks, you know,” Kosta said. “Trump was like, ‘She’s a huge embarrassment in every way, except for that flying fuck palace.’” Kosta clearly mouthed the F-word, but it got bleeped. Big laughs followed. Noem’s evasiveness in answering a question about whether she had “sexual relations” with Lewandowski, her senior adviser, got lots of buzz the day before word came down that she was out at DHS.
