Algerian printing and packaging manufacturer SALPAC Emballage has added a BOBST NOVACUT 106 E 3.0 die-cutter to its operations as part of a โ‚ฌ2.5m ($2.9m) programme launched in 2025 to replace and update converting equipment.

The installation of the BOBST NOVACUT 106 E Autoplaten is the latest stage in the development of the company's manufacturing set-up and continues its working relationship with BOBST, which began in 1968.

SALPAC supplies customers in food and drink, fast-moving consumer goods and pharmaceutical markets.

According to BOBST, the new machine was introduced to manage higher output volumes, cut downtime and maintain stable product quality.

Early operating results at SALPAC showed a 20โ€“30% rise in productivity, a 25% fall in make-ready time and around 15% fewer stoppages.

BOBST technical staff supported the installation, including training for operators and assistance during start-up.

SALPAC has used BOBST machinery for decades. In the late 1960s, it added equipment including a PCR 880 high-speed folder-gluer and an Autoplaten SP 900 die-cutting press.

A NOVACUT 106 E was installed in 2013, followed by the latest version of the same model in 2025.

SALPAC has also added folder-gluer systems including the VISIONFOLD 110 and the AMBITION 76 to its converting operations.

SALPAC Emballage chairman and CEO Khaled Akouche said: โ€œOur partnership with BOBST is built for the long term and represents a key driver of our growth. With the NOVACUT 106 E, we are significantly improving our converting efficiency while further strengthening our quality standards.โ€

"SALPAC updates production line with BOBST NOVACUT 106 E" was originally created and published by Packaging Gateway, a GlobalData owned brand.
